About

The grain center is being built at the corner of U.S. Route 7 and Vermont Route 22A in Ferrisburgh, adjoining and just north of Vergennes. On the land now is a Park & Ride and an Amtrak passenger station, with daily service to New York City and Burlington, Vermont.

This is a special piece of land, in the middle of the Champlain Valley, on the road north to Burlington and Quebec and south to Rutland, Vermont, Massachusetts, Albany, New York, and New York City. We had an option on this land 30 years ago, but it was too early for a younger commercial beekeeper, and so I set up a honey house a mile up the road on Route 7.

After 24 months of design, engineering and securing all land use permits per the Town of Ferrisburgh and the Act 250, the State of Vermont, we will purchase the land in January 2024 and begin construction with a project road and bringing an underground three phase power line from the Park & Ride to a transformer by the future building in the Spring of 2024.

You can see the three beehives on the land when you drive by on Route 7, on the east side of the island of trees on the land, sheltered from the winter winds.

We are grateful to the Town of Ferrisburgh and the State of Vermont for all of their support.
